Serving in Solidarity

Serving in solidarity means building the kinds of community‑rooted systems that honor dignity, deepen connection, and ensure our neighbors have access to food and support services they're looking for. Together, we’re coordinating connection points that enable us to show up for one another, growing a reality where community care is a form of resistance. Where we nourish each other and are richer for it. This year for GiveBIG, we’re raising $85,000 to strengthen this collective work—because community care is powerful, and when we invest in one another, we all rise.

Learn what to plant in the summer months, how to keep your garden thriving through hot weather, and set yourself up for continuous harvests throughout the season! Participants will receive plant starts to take home.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! Each week, more than 100 volunteers support our work. In 2025, volunteers shared nearly 12,000 hours with our neighbors–helping stock shelves, distribute groceries, provide translation, and so much more.

Our volunteers are truly the heart of RVFB, powering our mission and helping neighbors access nourishing food. We're so grateful to everyone who has volunteered with us. You are what makes this work possible.
